Allison Janney won best supporting actress in a drama series at Monday's 2026 Emmys for her work on Netflix's The Diplomat season three. In her speech, she thanked show creator Debora Cahn for writing dialogue actors want to perform.
Janney also thanked director Janice Williams and co-star Keri Russell. Janney's win ties the record held by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman for eight Emmy acting honours across all categories.
The Diplomat scored seven Emmy nominations this year. These included outstanding drama series and acting nominations for the show's leads.
Janney's earlier Emmys came from The West Wing, Mom and Masters of Sex.
