Henderson wins his Henderson Medal in big first year at Sebastopol
Sebastopol midfielder-forward Felix Henderson won the Henderson Medal on Monday with 24 votes in his first season at the club.
Henderson, a first-year player who joined from Geelong's St Joseph's, won the count by six votes from teammate Jack Bambury on Monday night. North Ballarat general Josh Morris and Darley's dynamic Nick Hind tied for third a vote back.
Henderson played all 21 games for Sebastopol and appeared in the under-23 interleague clash. Felix Henderson kicked 16 goals and earned best-on-ground honours nine times.
In the qualifying final, he marked and goaled in the final seconds to give Sebastopol a four-point win. The club is now headed to the grand final seeking its first premiership since 1975.
