Pepper's 1.9-second three stuns 36ers in Perth thriller
Elijah Pepper's three-pointer with 1.9 seconds left delivered Perth a 98-97 victory.
The Wildcats were level with Adelaide at halftime, 48-all, but rallied in stunning fashion at RAC Arena on Thursday. John Jenkins' three made it 96-93 with 8.6 seconds remaining.
Perth centre Jo Lual-Acuil answered with two free throws, and Adelaide's Jacob Rigoni hit one of two to make it 97-95. Bryce Cotton fouled Pepper as he launched an off-balance three from distance.
It went in. Pepper deliberately missed the free throw, knowing Adelaide would need a full-court shot to win.
Pepper finished with 25 points, Lual-Acuil with 21 and 11 rebounds, and Anthony Dell'Orso with 20.
