Geoff Ogilvy captains the International team at the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah, a course his design firm just redesigned.
Geoff Ogilvy won the US Open in 2006 and reached world No. 3, yet remains far less famous than other Australian male major winners. The 49-year-old has spent recent years largely behind the scenes, designing and redesigning golf courses through his company OCM Golf.
Ogilvy takes his first role as International Team captain at the Presidents Cup starting September 25 at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago. What makes it remarkable is that OCM Golf just completed a redesign of Medinah's No. 3 course, remaking it in the style of Melbourne's famous Sandbelt.
Ogilvy will literally captain his team on a course he redesigned.
