Mynott and Stevens share Liston Trophy after top vote-getters ruled ineligible
Trent Mynott and George Stevens won the VFL's Liston Trophy on 22 votes despite ineligible players finishing first and second.
Trent Mynott and George Stevens shared the 2026 honour after suspensions knocked out the top vote-getters. Port Melbourne's Ben Hobbs led on 26 votes and Southport's Jacob Dawson had 25, but both sat out games and could not win.
Mynott collected the award despite missing the final four matches with a calf injury. Stevens locked in the tie with a best-on-ground display in Geelong's final game.
It's the first time since 2003 the trophy has gone to anyone other than the highest vote-getter.
