Trump says Russia's diesel refineries crippled by Ukraine war damage
Trump claimed Russia has lost control of its diesel industry, with many refineries damaged and temporarily out of commission from the war.
US President Donald Trump posted that Russia's diesel industry has been severely damaged by the Ukraine war. "A large number of their diesel refineries have been blown up and are, at least temporarily, out of commission," he said.
Trump called for an end to the conflict. Trump said the war is "ridiculous and never ending".
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy responded by saying Ukraine's energy sector and infrastructure must stop being targets for Russian strikes. He said Ukraine would match any de-escalation steps.
Earlier this month, Trump blamed Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries for contributing to a global diesel shortage. Russian forces have continued bombing Ukrainian cities including Zaporizhzhia.
