Work experience at Warrnambool charity keeps teen in school
Taylah Marshall, 17, now attends high school each week specifically so she can work at One Day Studios on Wednesdays.
Taylah wasn't keen on school until she started work experience at One Day Studios, a Warrnambool not-for-profit helping young people into creative careers. Now she goes to class every week just so she can come here on Wednesdays.
Illustration is her passion but regional areas have few pathways. Most art classes are for little kids or real beginners, she said.
The studio teaches students business, accounting and copyright law alongside their creative work. One Day's YouTube series Mabel and Switch recently won a Kickstarter grant and has raised $6,616 for its next chapter.
