Payge Leembruggen, a 31-year-old mother of a five-year-old son, was found near Mackay Harbour North Wall on Tuesday morning after a member of the public made the discovery. Police believe she was last seen at a hair salon in Andergrove around 8.55am on September 11.
Detectives are now trying to establish what happened during the four-day gap before her body was located. The cause of death is unknown, and an autopsy is scheduled.
