Grace Hay joins rare trio with back-to-back Toni Wilson medals
North Albury's Grace Hay polled 29 votes to win the Toni Wilson Medal for the second year in a row.
Grace Hay's back-to-back win on Monday night puts her alongside just two other players in the league's history. Sophie Hanrahan won in 2018 and 2019, and Lindy Singleton won in 1995 and 1996.
Hannah Grady of Wangaratta finished second with 23 votes. Grady has now finished runner-up three times.
Hay is a defender for North Albury. She was also recently crowned Western Warriors' best and fairest for under-23s for the second straight year.
The Warriors reached the finals in the Victorian Netball League. North Albury itself broke a finals drought this season, reaching the semi-finals for the first time in years.
Hay said she was not expecting to poll so well and felt privileged to be in the company of such accomplished players.
