Roberts brothers reunite as defensive pair in grand final
Defenders Jett and Oscar Roberts will reunite as a brotherly pair in Sunday's Ovens and Murray Football League grand final.
Jett is 21 and his younger brother Oscar is 19, both having built a strong connection on the football field for Wangaratta. The pair played together in junior years but only recently reunited in senior footy.
Both have quickly become key parts of the team's tight defence. Jett has won two premierships: under-18 in 2022 and reserve grade in 2024.
Oscar is still hunting his first flag after Wangaratta lost the thirds premiership to Rovers in 2024. The brothers know each other's every move on field and often look for each other during play.
This draws friendly ribbing from teammates. Jett stands 186 centimetres and 80 kilograms; Oscar is 189 and 91.
The grand final is at Lavington Sportsground on Sunday from 2:30pm against Wangaratta Rovers.
