Carlton signs Amartey from Sydney as free agent
Joel Amartey, 26, joins Carlton as a free agent after being overlooked for Sydney's finals campaign.
Swans forward Joel Amartey has agreed to join Carlton next month. Joel Amartey is out of contract and spent the season weighing interest from the Blues.
Amartey played 15 games this year but missed Sydney's preliminary final. Joel Amartey kicked 42 goals in 25 games during the 2024 Grand Final run but has managed just 23 matches since due to injury and suspension.
He has not played since round 17 because of an Achilles problem. Although he returned to fitness this month, Sydney left him out of its finals squad.
Charlie Curnow and Logan McDonald led the Swans' forward line this year while Hayden McLean kicked 16 goals in 12 games.
