Man arrested for shop theft hours after bail from break-in charges
Brandon O'Hanlon, 24, was arrested for shop theft the day after being bailed on break-in charges.
Brandon O'Hanlon was bailed on 9 September. O'Hanlon faced charges of breaking into Tallangatta Football Netball Club in August.
O'Hanlon allegedly stole alcohol worth $500. Within 24 hours, he allegedly stole items from a Coles supermarket in Wodonga.
Detective Brianna Gibson told the court this fast reoffending was shocking. O'Hanlon is also accused of helping break into Cavanagh's Tallangatta Butchery.
He allegedly took a safe with $1200 in cash and a chequebook. He also allegedly stole a gift card from a car on 20 August and used it.
He is accused of filling another Coles trolley with $800 of food in August 2024. He allegedly left without paying.
Magistrate Peter Dunn held O'Hanlon in prison until 15 December. He cited breaking bail rules and reoffending.
