Millewah Suns eye Warrnambool title with 16-year-old debut star

The Albury-Wodonga Indigenous team heads to this weekend's VACSAL carnival. They are confident they can win a title. They lost last year's decider.

The Millewah Suns are traveling to Warrnambool this weekend. They're bringing about 50 footballers and netballers for the VACSAL Statewide Senior Football and Netball Carnival.

Coach Johnny Murray says the squad is stronger than last year's grand final team. They had more time to prepare and have new players.

One standout is 16-year-old Ryder Murray. He's making his senior debut after impressing in training.

Ryder is the son of former Port Adelaide and St Kilda player Allan Murray. The Suns added brothers Adam and Liam Wall from Yackandandah.

They also added Brent Ryan, a former Beechworth player from Melbourne. Murray believes the mix of new talent and experienced players like Dean and Hayden Heta gives them the depth to go all the way.
