One swimmer dies, two hospitalized after Saltwater Beach incident
A man in his 20s died after being pulled unresponsive from Saltwater Beach on the NSW Mid North Coast.
A young man died after emergency services pulled him unresponsive from Saltwater Beach, about 18km southeast of Taree on the NSW Mid North Coast. The man was swimming with two others, all in their 20s, when the trio got into trouble around 1:45pm on Sunday.
Paramedics and surf lifesavers rescued all three men, but one could not be saved. The other two were taken to Manning Base Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the circumstances. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The death follows another drowning at Cabarita Beach on the Tweed Coast on Saturday, where a man in his 50s was pulled from the water and later died.
