Trump asks Ukraine to stop attacking Russian diesel fuel supplies
Trump told Zelenskiy that Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian fuel are raising diesel prices above $6 a gallon.
During a visit to his golf course in western Ireland, Donald Trump called on Ukraine to halt drone strikes on Russian diesel production and refineries. Trump said the attacks hurt global fuel supply and told journalists Ukraine has plenty of other military targets.
US diesel prices rose above $6 a gallon for the first time on Thursday. A wave of long-distance Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian fuel production drove much of this rise.
Russia has downgraded its oil output forecast to a 17-year low because of the war. Ukraine argues that refineries are legitimate military targets because Russia regularly attacks Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
