Meghan's half-brother emerges in father's abuse investigation

Philippine authorities have named Thomas Markle Jr only as a person of interest after over 7,000 images of minors were found.

Philippine authorities are investigating Thomas Markle Sr over alleged possession of child sexual abuse material. More than 7,000 images and one video of minors were found on a mobile phone and memory cards.

Police say some of the children depicted were as young as 10 and 11 years old. Authorities have now named Thomas Markle Jr only as a person of interest in the case.

The investigation is spreading: Markle Jr has alerted the FBI to storage units in Los Angeles, and Mexican police have searched a unit near Markle Sr's former home. Markle Sr is 82 and recently moved to a memory care facility in Florida.

This may create legal obstacles for investigators because of his reported dementia diagnosis.
