Pothole repairs finally begin on Panmure highway after six-month delay
Work has begun on rebuilding a 980-metre stretch of the Princes Highway after delays since October 2025.
The pothole-ridden section of the Princes Highway between Ellerslie-Panmure Road and Harris Street has left motorists stranded with blown tyres and rims. The state government announced the upgrade in October 2025, and warning signs went up in April and May.
The warning signs came down after a month without any work starting. Last week, work to extend the culverts began.
The entire project is expected to last eight weeks, with single-lane closures and reduced speed limits in place. A reason for the initial delay was never fully explained.
