Djokovic, 39, beats Zverev to extend winning streak to 32

Novak Djokovic beat Alexander Zverev 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 to extend his winning streak to 32 matches at the China Open.

Novak Djokovic, aged 39, rolled back the years to beat top seed Alexander Zverev 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 and reach the semi-finals of the China Open in Beijing on Sunday. The match lasted two hours and 34 minutes, with Djokovic fighting back after losing the first set.

Zverev, a decade younger, powered 19 aces throughout the match, but Djokovic steadied his own serve and forced a decider. In the final set, Djokovic held steady on his own serve to go 5-4 ahead, then broke Zverev to take control.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion extended an astonishing winning streak to 32 matches, seemingly overcoming recent physical difficulties. Djokovic will face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals, after Medvedev beat Francisco Cerúndolo 7-6, 6-3.

Australia's Alex de Minaur also advanced to the last four with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Andrey Rublev.
