V/Line investigates Warrnambool coach with passengers without proper seats
V/Line has asked the coach operator to explain what happened on the Sunday trip.
Photos obtained by The Standard show passengers standing and sitting in a bus aisle. The coach was the 12.10pm Warrnambool to Mount Gambier service on Sunday, October 11.
Passengers said several travellers had no proper seat for parts of the two-and-a-half-hour trip. V/Line says it is investigating and has asked the coach operator to explain what happened.
V/Line says it expects all coach operators to meet the highest safety standards. On most regional V/Line services, standing on buses is strictly banned.
Member for South West Coast Roma Britnell says the Labor government has not addressed overcrowding. Labor MP Jacinta Ermacora says the government is monitoring patronage data to find where more services are needed.
