Kangaroo Flat chases down 311-run target with balls to spare
Kangaroo Flat successfully chased 311 to beat Huntly North with three wickets and 17 balls remaining.
The Roos got off to a perfect start to their campaign at home with a team effort across the batting order. Opener Lachlan McKay scored a composed 70 to give them momentum early.
Experienced players Dylan Klemm (51) and Brent Hamblin (62 not out) steadied the ship through the middle overs in a chase where only one batter fell for single digits. Huntly North took wickets throughout the afternoon but never built real pressure until leg-spinner Kyen Burrill-Grinton took two quick wickets before tea.
The match stayed on a knife's edge when Lewis Stabler bowled Riley Burns at 7-258, but Hamblin and Adam Burns (33 not out) put on a 55-run partnership for the eighth wicket to secure the points.
