Connie Dunlop turns 103 and credits good people for her life
Connie Dunlop, born 1923, celebrated her 103rd birthday in Coolamon, crediting good people for life's highlights.
Connie Dunlop turned 103 on September 16 at Coolamon's Allawah Lodge aged care home. When asked about her best times, she said simply: good people.
Harold and Eva Taylor raised nine children together on farms around Wagga and Ganmain. In 1927 the family moved to Beckom, where her father ran a general store and her mother played organ at church.
Connie and her sister Edie spent more than 30 years behind the shop counter, making lifelong connections. She married Gordon Dunlop, a World War I veteran, in 1970.
Now she looks back with gratitude. "Good people have been the highlight of my life," she said.
Her nephew Jim Nash says the family was central to the Beckom community, always supporting each other and others. "She's met incredible people," he said, "and the staff at the care home are among them."
