Ballarat women's cricket is growing. Napoleons-Sebastopol fielded its inaugural women's first XI on Friday night in Ballan, a historic milestone for the club.
Emma Broughton, a former Bull from Brown Hill, leads the side. Broughton and Lauren Ward approached the club's president to ask if they would form a women's team.
Three new sides joined the competition this season to offset Brown Hill's departure. Broughton hopes to eventually grow the women's competition to match the size of the men's league.
