Murfet smashes 105 as Westbury opens with dominant win
Daniel Murfet scored 105 not out off 86 balls to lead Westbury's eight-wicket chase in Cricket North.
Daniel Murfet lit up the opening round with a rapid 105 not out off 86 balls for Westbury. Murfet hit 11 fours and six sixes to chase down South Launceston's 169 in fewer than 25 overs.
The final six came down the ground to bring up the century in style. In the other Cricket North game, Jarrod Freeman dominated for Mowbray.
He took 4-21 with the ball before hitting 44 off 42 balls to steer a three-wicket chase over Riverside's 139. Freeman was backed up by solid bowling across the Mowbray lineup, with all but one bowler picking up at least one wicket.
Amaan Tariq, an Eagles import fresh off his arrival, also took wickets. Kingborough's Nivethan Radhakrishnan hit a century to lift his side past the Greater Northern Raiders.
