Coolamon ends 13-year premiership drought with 44-point grand final win
Coolamon midfielder Haiden Schloithe took best-on-ground honours in their dominant 44-point grand final victory, ending the club's 13-year premiership drought.
Schloithe was outstanding across all four quarters, with his biggest impact in the second quarter when he kicked two goals to help Coolamon push their lead to 56 points at half-time. Schloithe collected seven votes for best-on-ground, narrowly ahead of teammates Nik Dale and Luke Redfern who both finished on five.
Schloithe said the premiership meant everything to the club after waiting so long. Schloithe had missed the last four regular-season games with a torn groin tendon but returned just in time for finals.
His physio told him there was only a one or two percent chance he'd play again within seven weeks. But Schloithe made it back and played through the finals series on one leg to help bring home the flag.
