Man critical after 200-person Brisbane party erupts, bottles hurled at police
A 43-year-old man is critical after a medical episode at a 200-person Brisbane house party where guests threw bottles at police.
Police were called to a house party on Ney Road and Wildflower Street in Capalaba, Brisbane at 10:15pm on Saturday. The gathering had spiraled out of control.
Guests allegedly threw glass bottles at officers as they arrived, prompting police to call the PolAir helicopter for support. Inside the house, officers found a 43-year-old man unresponsive after a medical episode.
Officers gave him CPR. The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical condition.
A 16-year-old girl who had also collapsed was taken to Redland Hospital in stable condition. Three other people were assessed by paramedics.
Two were taken home by a relative. A 16-year-old was charged with assaulting police and street offences.
They are due in Cleveland Children's Court on October 16.
