Coalition plans to cut First Nations content from school curriculum

The Coalition plans to cut three shared learning areas: First Nations histories and culture, Asia connections, and sustainability. They are now taught across subjects like English, history and science.
Shadow education minister Julian Leeser said these topics lack specialist teaching. Leeser wants them taught instead as separate units within history, geography or science classes.
The Coalition also plans to teach what it calls the "foundations of Western culture". This includes democracy, the rule of law and "a fair go".
Leeser said students should take pride in the flag and Australian values.
