One Nation's vetting chief had secret doubts about Farrer before his election
Leaked texts show general manager Kelvin Morton called David Farley an asshole just days before Farley won Farrer for One Nation.
One Nation's general manager, brought in to improve candidate vetting, texted that the party needed to 'stop finding these assholes'. The messages came just days before David Farley won the Farrer byelection in May.
Morton warned Farley would look like an 'only untrustworthy snake' if he quit after the election. The texts also reveal Morton has clashed with Brisbane volunteers and suspended a Lilley branch coordinator over access to promotional materials.
One Nation says the comments 'do not reflect the view of the party'. Tensions between Farley and party staff have stayed high since his election.
One Nation was forced to criticise him over his migration policy comments.
