The National guitarist brings classical concerto to Sydney
Guitarist Bryce Dessner brings his new cello concerto Trembling Earth to Sydney after premiering it in Dublin, Berlin and Prague.
Bryce Dessner plays guitar and writes songs for The National and is also a classical composer rehearsing a new cello concerto called Trembling Earth with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The piece was inspired by a Munch painting and reflects on environmental destruction and human impact on nature.
Dessner says turning off your phone during the concert creates meaningful focus. The concerto has already premiered in Dublin, Berlin and Prague.
Dessner will perform multiple programs with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra this weekend.
