Wollongong residents demand transport plan for 315-unit high-rise

Community group opposes 315-unit mixed-use development. No proper study of the combined transport impact was done.

A Keiraville community group opposed a proposed 315-unit mixed-use development on the former UOW site at Throsby Drive. The development would include five apartment buildings with 230 units and an eighty-four-room co-living building.

Residents say the local roads were not properly studied. This is especially true for Foley Street, the main link to the CBD.

The group argues the project should not be approved alone but considered with other nearby developments. Of eighteen public submissions, only one supported the project.

The group wants a transport study for the whole precinct before approval.
