Man cleared of 1986 bombing denied bail over alleged burglaries
Rodney Joseph Minogue, acquitted on appeal over the 1986 Russell Street bombing, has been denied bail on burglary and drug possession charges.
Rodney Joseph Minogue, cleared of the 1986 Russell Street bombing, was arrested on 28 August for allegedly burgling a neighbour's South Albury home twice. CCTV footage shows him targeting the woman's Matra Place home.
A judge bailed him on 29 August. Minogue allegedly breached the bail order by going within 200 metres of the property.
He tried to time his visits when the victim was not home so he could feed his dogs. Acting Judge Judith Sweeney refused bail on 11 September, saying there were no conditions that would reduce the risk.
Minogue is also charged with possessing or attempting to possess a restricted substance.
