Scone driver charged over e-bike rider's death
A 56-year-old driver has been charged with negligent driving after a February crash killed a 22-year-old e-bike rider.
NSW Police charged a 56-year-old man with negligent driving over a fatal crash that happened in February in Scone. On 17 February at 10:15am, emergency services were called to Liverpool Street.
A crash had been reported between a utility vehicle and an e-bike on a property driveway. The 22-year-old e-bike rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died before reaching hospital.
The ute driver was taken to Scone Hospital for mandatory testing. A crime scene was established and Hunter Valley Police began investigating.
On 6 September, police served a future court attendance notice on the driver. He is due to appear in Scone Local Court on 11 November.
