Hawthorn swapped picks with the Western Bulldogs on Friday, sending a 2028 third-rounder in return for a 2027 third-round selection tied to Gold Coast. The Hawks now hold five picks in 2027 and only two in 2028.
Several Academy prospects are on the board in the 2027 draft pool, including Zane Adams, Henry Allsop and Charlie Fischer, who played in the Marsh AFL National Futures Boys match on Grand Final day. The move is part of Hawthorn's busy Trade Period.
The club has already landed Zach Merrett from Essendon and Ben King from Gold Coast, while North Melbourne's Josh Goater has requested a move to the Hawks.
