Newcastle City Police District commander Superintendent Kylie Endemi was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Command.
Superintendent Kylie Endemi, who has led Newcastle City Police since 2022, has been promoted to a state-level role overseeing health and safety across NSW police. During her four years in Newcastle, Endemi managed several major incidents.
These included an alleged murder on Beaumont Street and an alleged riot at Mayfield. Endemi focused on supporting officers' wellbeing alongside community engagement and created the district's first dedicated Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer role.
