Brisbane beat Hawthorn in a classic, with a late holding-the-ball call on Jarman Impey sealing the win.
Brisbane is into the Grand Final for a fourth straight year after one of the most thrilling AFL finals ever played at the MCG. Hawthorn fought back from as much as 28 points down in the final quarter and took the lead with Nick Watson's sixth goal, but a free kick on Jarman Impey with just 36 seconds left gave Brisbane the chance to win.
Hugh McCluggage kicked the go-ahead goal, then Kai Lohmann added another after the siren to seal a 20.11 (131) to 19.8 (122) win. The call on Impey was perhaps harsh.
The final quarter saw 12 goals kicked across both sides, and 97,835 fans at the MCG created what some called the loudest preliminary final ever.
