Thousands attended a memorial at Sorrento beach in Perth for Greg O'Neill. He was killed by a great white shark in September while swimming close to shore.

Keelan O'Neill told the crowd to keep swimming and paddling. He said his father would have wanted people to embrace life fully.

Bianca O'Neill thanked the community for its support. O'Neill's swimming group, the Sorrento Squids, returned to the water on the memorial day.

This included the friend who was swimming with him when he was attacked. He was the third person killed by a shark in Western Australia this year.
