Hanson and Joyce stayed at billionaire Rinehart's mansion, undeclared
Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce stayed at Gina Rinehart's home. They did not declare this stay as parliament requires.
Guardian Australia revealed the story. Hanson and Joyce stayed at Rinehart's $20m Hawthorne home after fundraising events for One Nation.
Joyce even did a live Sunrise television interview from what appears to be a bedroom at the mansion the morning after. Parliamentary rules require parliamentarians to declare gifts or hospitality worth more than $300.
They must declare when a conflict of interest could arise. The accommodation was not declared.
Parliamentary records do show Hanson and Joyce flew on Rinehart's luxury Gulfstream jet on 13 April. Joyce told Guardian Australia that Rinehart is a long-term friend.
He does not see stays with friends as work. Hanson also uses one of Rinehart's personal bodyguards for her security.
