Brumbies return to Manuka Oval for two games in 2027
The Brumbies will play two Super Rugby matches at Manuka Oval in 2027, their first games there since 1996.
The Brumbies announced this week they will play two Super Rugby games at Manuka Oval in 2027, returning to the ground for the first time in just over three decades. The Western Force match is set for Friday, 19 March.
The Queensland Reds match is set for Saturday, 10 April. The team's last game at Manuka was in 1996, when they beat Natal Sharks 44-31.
With average crowds of just 7500 at Canberra Stadium this year, the Brumbies are testing whether the oval's proximity to pubs, cafes and restaurants will boost attendance and create better atmosphere. Manuka's smaller capacity also offers a tighter experience than the cavernous GIO Stadium.
The move marks the 90th year of ACT rugby.
