Organized burglars steal $60k in e-bikes from Canberra shop
Three burglars broke into Pushys bike shop and stole four high-end mountain bikes worth about $60,000 in five minutes.
On Saturday at 4.23am, three people dressed in black and balaclavas cut through the back door of Pushys Fyshwick using a circular handsaw, bypassing the alarm and grabbing four mountain bikes worth roughly $60,000, plus parts, chargers and sunglasses.
The three burglars were in and out in about five minutes. Store manager Michael Molloy said the group clearly knew what they were doing, and it was not new: the same shop was hit six months earlier for two e-bikes worth $35,000.
The break-ins fit a wider pattern in Canberra, where more than 950 bikes were reported stolen to ACT Policing between 2024 and 2025. Molloy himself had a $21,000 Santa Cruz e-bike reportedly stolen from his home garage last month.
ACT Policing is investigating but has not identified the offenders or recovered any items.
