James Vlassakis is 46 years old. He was one of four people involved in the Snowtown serial murders. He has now entered Adelaide's pre-release centre after his parole was approved.

Vlassakis received a life sentence with a 26-year non-parole period for his role in killings between 1992 and 1999. He killed Fred Brooks, Gary O'Dwyer, David Johnson and his half-brother Troy Youde.

The South Australian government tried to block his parole in September. But the Parole Administrative Review Commissioner approved his release.
