Braidwood's first Big Wheels Festival brings 60 trucks to town on October 10
Braidwood hosts its first Big Wheels Festival on October 10 with over 60 trucks, tractors and heritage vehicles.
The community-focused event, organised by the Braidwood Lion's Club, kicks off with a convoy of more than 60 vehicles rolling down Wallace Street before heading to the showground. Local truck driver and Braidwood Freight owner Nick Turner spearheaded the idea after taking part in a similar event in Goulburn.
The showground programme includes a show-and-shine competition, raffles, market stalls, historic vehicles and engines, live music, and activities for children. All proceeds will fund Lions programs that support young people in the region.
Turner spent several years securing permits and a rare road closure of the main street to make the parade happen.
