North Melbourne Werribee reaches third straight AFLW grand final
Back-to-back premiers North Melbourne Werribee defeated Collingwood 12.5 (77) to 2.4 (16) to secure a third consecutive grand final berth.
North Melbourne Werribee cruised past Collingwood in their semi-final to book a spot in the AFLW reserves grand final. The Roos' strength came from even team contribution: Alana Barba had 23 disposals, Ava Seton and Charlotte Ryan each had 21, with captain Renee Tierney and Nyakoat Dojiok kicking three goals apiece.
Maddison Torpey recorded 12 hitouts and also kicked a goal. The opposition offered little resistance.
In the other semi, minor premier Williamstown edged Port Melbourne 6.4 (40) to 5.8 (38) to claim their first VFLW grand final appearance. Emily Eaves kicked the crucial final quarter goal for the Seagulls and won 16 disposals and six clearances.
The VFLW Grand Final takes place on Sunday, September 20.
