Knights fan flies 24 hours to watch Warriors clash at Eden Park
Bec Prestwidge flies to Eden Park to watch Newcastle Knights play the Warriors.
Bec Prestwidge has watched Knights games at every NRL ground except Vegas and Perth, so this Sunday's match at Eden Park was non-negotiable. The Belmont North woman holds a decade-long club membership and has missed barely a home game in ten years.
She's driven to matches in Brisbane, Townsville, Melbourne and Sydney over the seasons. Eden Park will be nearly the last major NRL ground she's visited.
"I could cry to be honest," she told the Newcastle Herald before leaving. "This is massive, gigantic for the Knights and Newcastle."
She'll spend barely over 24 hours in New Zealand, outnumbered by Warriors supporters, but says she just wanted to be there to cheer on the team. Last month she ticked off Go Media Stadium (formerly Mount Smart) during a regular round trip.
