Labor stands down staffer for sexist posts attacking Credlin
Rhys Muldoon, former Play School host, stood down after sexist and racist social media posts surfaced.
Tasmanian senator Richard Dowling has stood down Rhys Muldoon, a casual staffer and former Play School host. Past social media posts came to light.
In 2022, Muldoon used X to post sexist attacks on Peta Credlin, Tony Abbott's former chief of staff. Muldoon also described senator Jacinta Price as a traitor for her stance on the Voice to Parliament.
He used a racial slur in a 2014 post. Dowling said the comments were unacceptable and that everyone in public life has a responsibility to improve political discourse.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said it was appropriate that the staffer was stood down. Credlin questioned how Muldoon cleared Labor's vetting process.
