North and Melbourne negotiate Zane Duursma trade terms
North Melbourne and Melbourne are negotiating Zane Duursma's trade, with the Roos insisting on suitable compensation for the out-of-contract forward.
Zane Duursma has requested a trade to Melbourne, but North Melbourne and the Demons still need to agree on terms. North list manager Brady Rawlings said the Roos want real value in return and are not afraid to keep Duursma if the offer is weak.
Rawlings noted the club drafted Duursma fourth overall in 2023 and invested heavily in him, so they expect fair compensation. Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb said the two sides have only had preliminary talks but he is confident they will reach a deal.
Lamb said Melbourne are keen to keep pick 10 and focus on the draft to add more good players from some talented youth landing last season.
