Boxer rebuilds life seven years after prison release
Richardson rebuilds his life through boxing and fights for the Tasmanian light-heavyweight belt on October 31.
Caine Richardson, 37, has spent the longest stretch of his life outside prison custody since age 11. Boxing kept him grounded through his years inside and out.
Richardson made his professional debut in December 2024 and won fights in November 2025 and March 2026. Last month he won Queensland's Golden Gloves amateur tournament in the 85-kilogram open category.
Now he faces NSW cruiserweight champion Krishna Mudaliar for the Tasmanian light-heavyweight belt. The match is at Halloween Havoc in Launceston on October 31.
Richardson trains twice daily, six days a week. He says the discipline of the sport shows the example he wants his teenage daughter to see.
