Chery launches Lepas EV sub-brand in Australia this October
Chery launches Lepas with an electric SUV in October and three more models by 2027.
Chery will introduce its Lepas brand to Australia in October with the L6 EV, a mid-size electric crossover SUV with 440 kilometres of range. The smaller L4 EV arrives in December with 450 kilometres of range.
They use 65kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries. Lepas will be electric-only in Australia at first.
Plug-in hybrid versions of the L4 and L6 will launch in 2027. The larger L8 SUV will launch in September 2027 as a plug-in hybrid with 90 kilometres of electric range, followed by an all-electric version in 2028.
A flagship L9 model is scheduled for the second half of 2027. Lepas is an export brand sold nowhere in China.
