V8 jet sprint racing returns to Victoria after 15 years
Australian V8 superboats jet sprint racing returns to Victoria for the first time since 2011.
Victoria's 63rd Elmore Field Days starts Tuesday, October 6 and runs through Thursday, October 8, and the biggest draw is the return of V8 superboat jet sprint racing. The high-speed boats disappeared from the state 15 years ago and will debut with a preview day on Tuesday at the Elmore Events Centre.
The first competitive round runs October 31, with Round 4 in March alongside Elmore Full Noise (the former Tractor Pull). Beyond the speedboats, the three-day event features camel rides, gold panning, chainsaw wood carving by international artist Brandon Kroon, shearing and dog handling demonstrations, plus over 500 exhibitors competing for eight major awards.
