St Thomas Aquinas is a new Catholic primary school in Huntly, due to open for 2027. The principal says the doors will open on the first day of the 2027 school year.
More than 40 students have already enrolled, and the school will start with at least three full classrooms. The three classes are two prep classes and one grade 1 and 2 class.
The principal expects the new building to be finished by the end of term one, or even earlier. Until then, the plan is for portable classrooms to fill the gap.
The finished building will have six classrooms, a staff room, an office area and a canteen. The school is set to have two basketball courts, a playground and a sand pit.
