British couple mourned at joint funeral after death in Spanish holiday
Thomasina and Patrick Tobin, who died in a Spanish hot tub, were farewelled at a joint funeral in Ireland on Friday.
Thomasina and Patrick Tobin, aged 51 and 48 respectively, died in a jacuzzi at a villa in Cullera, Spain, on August 24. The Tobin children, aged 14 and 16, found them and alerted authorities.
Hundreds gathered for their joint funeral in Castleblayney, Ireland, on Friday. Canon Patrick McGinn told mourners the couple were devoted parents who will be deeply missed.
Items placed on the altar included a family photo, Patrick's sporting medals, and Thomasina's hard hat from her work as a surveyor. Their children, who have special needs, are being cared for by family in the UK.
