Soldiers Hill luxury rebuild passes in at $1.8m auction
A Soldiers Hill derelict bought for $450,000 in 2018 was fully rebuilt and passed in at $1.8 million.
The three-storey Victorian at 10 Clarendon Street, Soldiers Hill underwent a complete renovation and extension finished in September 2021. The owner, a local builder, carried out construction work himself with the design by Project Now Architects.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home features soaring ceilings, hardwood floors, a double garage and swimming pool spread across split levels that make clever use of the suburb's sloping terrain. The three-storey Victorian hit the market on September 29 with a price guide of $2 million to $2.2 million but attracted no opening bids at auction.
The auctioneer placed a vendor bid of $1.8 million before the property was passed in, with conditional interest already secured for post-auction sale.
